Biography

Georgia McBrien was born in 1878 to John McBrien and Lourice (Estes) McBrien.[1][2][3] At 14-months old, she suffered an attack of infantile paralysis. Doctors told her parents she would likely die young. She spent most of her life using crutches to walk.[4]

She worked as a teacher.[5] She taught at various rural schools in the area of Miami, OK for 48 years.[6][7][8][9][10][4]

She never married.[11][12] She passed away on 28 Oct 1966.[10] She is buried at Grand Army of the Republic Cemetery, Miami, Ottawa County, OK.[13]
