Biography

1860 Mary Ann is the daughter of Robert and Mary and was probably born at Township 101, r 7, known as Spring Grove in Houston County, Minnesota. Her father, Robert was 28 years old, a Hotel Keeper and had Real Estate in the value of $1500 and $400 personal estate. He was born in Ireland. Her mother, Mary McCormick, a house keeper, born in Ireland and, Mary A McCormick, 1 years old, born in Minnesota.^[1][2]

1870 By 1870, the McCormicks had moved to Freedom Township, Waseca County, Minnesota. The nearest Post Office was Wilton, Minnesota. Robert was 42 years old and had given up the Hotel business for farming. His Real Estae was now worth $3000 with $700 in personal estate. He and his wife are listed as having been born in Ireland. Mary now, 34 years old had more children to look after. Mary Ann a student, born in Minnesota was 11. Thomas, born in Minnesota, was also attending school at the age of 8. Robert, born in Minnesota was 7. John, born in Minnsota was 5. Rose, born in Minnesota was 4. Hugh, born in Minnesota was 2. James, born in Minnesota was 10 months.^[3]
