Biography
Donna Marsh's childhood was straight out of a black and white movie. She was born in a small river town where children played in creeks, decorated their bicycles for parades through the streets, gathered in friend's yards for impromptu baseball games, and held carnivals in the school gym. Her teenage years had her living in a much bigger town (by nearly 10,000 residents) where Saturday nights included cruising around the courthouse and down "the strip," stopping at the drive-in restaurant for a burger and a soda, and then heading back up to the courthouse to do it all again. Marsh had an exciting youth.
Her life has been filled with some consistent themes: family, health issues, and chronic pain. It has also been filled with some consistent loves: family, reading, crocheting, and a good ghost story.
Through it all, Marsh wrote. There was a time when she threw away or tore up anything she put to paper because of self-doubt, but she eventually started to let things trickle out. Since then Marsh has seen pieces published both online and in print, with articles in various beer zines, on CMT.com, and in several blogs. She's also written selections for Jeff Belanger's "Encyclopedia of Haunted Places" and several "Chicken Soup for the Soul" books, as well as co-writing "Nashville Haunted Handbook."
Marsh now lives and thrives in Nashville, where she happily researches the paranormal. You will most likely find her reading, doing volunteer work, or traipsing around one of the city's many historical battlefields or cemeteries with her camera and a recorder.
She is the single mother of two grown sons and Marmee to two grandchildren. She's also the devoted minion of her two dogs, a very bossy Corgi and a "600-pound" Chihuahua.
Marsh is currently working on several books and has outlines for many other projects as well. One day she will learn to properly work her camera.
