Biography
Jessie McDermid was born on 4 Jan 1859 in Williams River, Colony of New South Wales, daughter of Hugh McDermid (1827 - 1910) and Janet (McPhee) McDermid (1828 - 1904). [1]
Jessie married Edward Moore on the 16th Jun 1882 at Scots Church, Sydney. Ceremony conducted by the Reverend A M JARVIE.[3][4] They had seven sons and 2 daughters.
Jessie died on 18 Oct 1926 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia aged 67.[5] She was buried in the Waverley Cemetery.[6]

Grafton.—A warrant has been issued by the Grafton Bench for the arrest of Frederick William Davis, charged with unlawfully deserting his illegitimate male child, leaving him without means of support. Davis is about 29 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, stout build, large brown beard and moustache ; a native of the colony ; a sailor. Supposed to have gone to Sydney. Complainant Jessie McDermid, resides at Grafton.
