Biography

Mary Ann McFerrin was born in the late 1700s to William McFerrin and Jane Laughlin. She married James Ishmael in Kentucky in 1804 and they had 11 known children. Burial: Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, Fleming County, Kentucky, United States


Research Notes

A few have disputed Mary's parentage because she married James in Kentucky. So the assumption was made that she was also born there. She could have been born in Kentucky County, Virginia, United States. Kentucky County was in Virginia from 1776-1780.Kentucky Maps 1776 James was born in Pennsylvania and married in Kentucky. There is no official record to date where she was born.
