A few have disputed Mary's parentage because she married James in Kentucky. So the assumption was made that she was also born there. She could have been born in Kentucky County, Virginia, United States. Kentucky County was in Virginia from 1776-1780.Kentucky Maps 1776 James was born in Pennsylvania and married in Kentucky. There is no official record to date where she was born.
