Biography

Almira Ann McGilvary was born on 28 Nov 1859 in Bond Co., Illinois as the second child of Willis McGilvary and Jane Sutton. She had five siblings, namely: Johnson, Henry Martin, Willis, Luvina, and Richard Willis and a half-brother Charles J. McGilvary. When she was 15, she married Riley James Smith on 19 Oct 1875 in Bond Co., Illinois. Riley and Almira had the following children: Hannah L., Nancy J., Sarah Elizabeth "Lizzie," Riley Arthur, Lona Almira and Emma Smith.
