John McMartin is Notable.
John McMartin was a Canadian business figure, mining executive and political figure in Ontario. He was president of the Labrador Pulp and Paper Company, the Motherlode Sheep Creek Mining Company, and vice-president of Hollinger Consolidated Mines. He represented Glengarry and Stormont in the House of Commons from 1917 until his death in 1918. [1]

John, born in 1858, [2]was the son of Allan McMartin and Catherine McDonell.[3] He lived with his family in Charlottenburg Township in 1881. [4]

John McMartin and Mary Catharine McDougald, daughter of John A McDougald and Annie Chisholm, both residents of Alexandria, Ontario, were married 22 Jan 1896 in St. Columban Roman Catholic Church in Cornwall, Ontario. John was a railroad contractor. [5]

He passed away in 1918.[6]
