Since there are 10 people here with James(1845) clearly dying in infancy, and the death notice says he was survived by all 9 of his children (who are listed on the death cert) we can reasonably conclude that these are all children of this same couple.

Philip of Garden Hill

Philip McNabb (abt.1839-) , parents Philip + Margaret arrived in 1858 from Langfield; going to live with his father Phillip who was at Garden Hill, New South Wales.

We can conclude from the above BDM analysis that Philip of Garden Hill did not have any children registered in New South Wales. With no death registration found, perhaps he left the country.

Fairy Meadow

An ancestry tree names his son Thomas as born at "Fairy Meadow, Wollongong" (no source given). We also see that place name in the immigration processing of Catherine McNabb (abt.1839-) from Drumscra (parents: Bernard + Alice)

Catherine names "Philip McNabb of Fairy Meadow, Wollongong" as "Uncle". It does not really seem possible that this profile is Catherine's uncle: he were the brother of Bernard McNabb (abt.1800-bef.1859), then Philip's brother Francis McNabb (abt.1835-) would also be the brother of this Bernard, and a 35 year age gap between brothers was rare.

Perhaps Philip was not an uncle but a 1C1R for example; or perhaps our tentative trees for Bernard+Alice and George+Catherine have a mistake.

Another possibility might be that Philip of Fairy Meadow is the father of Philip McNabb (abt.1839-); although that leaves us with two disappearing Philips rather than just the one !

Catherine (McNabb) Lynch (abt.1846-1919) might have lived at Fairy Meadow. Not sure if that is correct or not -- there is no evidence for that on the profile now, and I had mistakes on that profile in the past. McNabb-412 20:50, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
