He arrived in New South Wales in January 1858 aboard the Peter Maxwell. His mother Margaret was still at Langfield, County Tyrone; while his father Phillip was a farmer at Garden Hill, Woollongong.

Research Notes
The passenger log actually appears to say "Sangfell" but I am taking this to be a mis-hearing of "Langfield".
There is a NSW death reg: MCNAB PHILIP, 15653/1893, UNKNOWN, UNKNOWN, WOLLONGONG, but that is for Philip McNabb (1818-1893) (certificate sighted).
It could be possible that this profile was an illegitimate child of that Philip; but no evidence to suggest that really.
