I have discovered within the last few years that my biological paternal surname is falling in line with the Meece & Calhoun heritage. After much research and investigations my wife and I were able to narrow the possibilities down to the lines of Charlie & Angie Meece and now are recognizing one of their five son's as my inferred biological Father. My request here is for any assistance adding family members via DNA into my tree who I am completely unfamiliar with. I was taken by the State of California from an alcoholic mother at 9mos old with no paternal father listed on my original birth certificate before adoption. Raised by adoptive parents of whom kept me in contact with my birth mother for sake of personal identity on my behalf and all honesty on theirs. Guess I'm at a place where I seek to find answer's I've spent a life-time avoiding; and I truly don't even know why. I didn't start this DNA journey for this reason, my wife was gifted a kit by a family member and she thought it would be fun, so I complied. Never in a million years did I expect to find a trail leading to a possible bio-dad. But now that it has, I seem to have a different need out of this whole scenario called my life story. So here I am, hoping someone will lend me a helping hand? I know how time consuming this genealogy stuff can be, to say the least have no paper trail or records to support it with so I say thank you in advance for any consideration to help. Be well - Sr.
