In 1861, 56 year old William "Merrick" is living in Stourport High St with his wife Ellen[6]. He is working as a shoemaker.
In 1871, 65 year old widower William is living with his daughter Sarah and her husband George Crumpton in Cheapside, Stourport[7]. He is a former shoe maker and is now paralysed.
William's death was registered in Kidderminster in the second quarter of 1873[8]
