Terri, My Whipple line is very limited, I can only go back to my 2x great grandfather - Whipple-1572 who was born in NY about 1825. I know that he had an older brother James who was living with him in 1855 when the NY Census was taken.

Thomas did have 3 sons, Jasper was my great grandfather. I do have some information on the other 2 in my ancestry tree but have not got to move it to Wikitree yet. I don't remember meeting any of those cousins when I was young. Have you looked at the Whipple website. There is lots of info there including Whipples that have not been able to connect to main Whipple immigrants. I had my DNA done, maybe I can find out where I fit in the puzzle. We are found southwest Michigan, so it is possible that one of my great uncles family moved to Illinois

Looking for two lost MESSER brothers from the 1700's. History books do not give names of the two, only say one

went to VA and one to CT. My line is Samuel. He died in Lancaster County, Pa in 1799. His son, Issac, became a well known Brethren minister and first settler in my area. We have one of the oldest cemeteries named Messer cemetery. Any information I am willing to look at to find them. I am currently seeking DNA on my father John Messer and his brother James. We have a lot of biblical names in our line. We have a German crest.

Welcome Terri,

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree! Thank you for volunteering and sharing.

Have fun and ask for help ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist. You can also join in on the conversation about our question of the week: Do you listen to genealogy podcasts?

Hi Terri,

Welcome to the WikiTree family!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that all members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.

The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.

If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.

Carole

P.S. I'm always happy to answer questions.
