Cyril Millward, of Bellevue-street, Manly, applied to-day to the Minister of Justice (Mr. Martin) for permission to marry Gladys Burns, aged 26, who was one of the four accused at the Sara trial.

She was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with light labor. Millward asked that Miss Burns be released so that he could marry her, stating that he had kept company with her for two and a half years, and been engaged to her for eight months.

Mr. Martin said he could not comment at this stage, but would send for reports.

WOMAN RELEASED FROM GAOL

Minister's Recommendation

SYDNEY, Friday.

On the recommendation of the Minister for Justice (Mr. Martin), Gladys Burns (25), one of the four persons sentenced at the Sara conspiracy trial on April 14, was released from Long Bay gaol yesterday to be married.

She had been sentenced to six months' imprisonment. Before she was sentenced Cyril Millward, of Balgowlah, rose in the court and said that he was prepared to marry her at once if she were freed. Mr. Martin caused inquiries to be made, and after the opinion of the trial judge was obtained, announced that she would be released.
