Bingham - Dean Francis Mitchell, 67, of Bingham, died [at 10:30 a.m.] Monday, Jan. 14, 2002, at Maplecrest Rehabilitation and Living Center in Madison. He was born in Baileyville, June 1, 1934, the son of John Melvin and Addie (Dean) Mitchell. He graduated from Woodland High School, class of 1951. He served with the Air Force in the 1950s. Dean had been a resident of Bingham for the past year and previously lived in Rocky Hill, Conn. He had worked most of his life as an antique dealer and for 14 years was employed as a supervisor for the Handicap Workshop of Hartford, Conn., retiring to Maine in 2000. He was a member of the Guardian Angel Somerset Jubilee 2000, 4th degree Knights of Columbus of Skowhegan, and a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Bingham. He is survived by a special friend and companion of 45 years, Theodore F. Jones, of Bingham; a sister, Dorothy James, and her husband, Robert, of Skowhegan; seven nieces, three nephews, and several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Owens Street, Bingham, with Rev. Georges Plante officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial contribution to Health Reach Hospice, 165 North Ave., Skowhegan 04976. Arrangements are by Giberson Funeral Home, Bingham. [Cremated. Ashes, originally interred at Calvary Cemetery in Skowhegan, were transferred in 2016 by his sister, Dorothy (Mitchell) James, to the Mitchell Family plot in the Woodland Cemetery, Baileyville, Maine.]

ELLSWORTH - Theodore F. Jones, 77, passed away Oct. 23, 2006, at a local health care facility. He was born Dec. 30, 1928, in Waterbury, Conn., the son of Gordon and Isabel (sic) Jones. He was a World War II veteran. Ted was predeceased by his beloved brother and sister, Gordon Jones and Betty Leslie; and one special friend, Dean Mitchell. He is survived by son (sic, should be nephew), Douglas Leslie of Ellsworth; one granddaughter, Spring King and her husband, Shawn; and very special great-grandson, Jayson, all of Ellsworth; a very special friend, Joyce LaCrosse of Hulls Cove; and several nieces, nephews and friends throughout the United States; and his most beloved cat, Charlie.
