Clem C. Moore Posted by: Missy Date: November 10, 2000 at 17:44:54 In Reply to: Re: HARDENS CHAPEL CEMETERY--ITAWAMBA CO MS by Ann of 3543
Please. everyone, correct your records. CLEM C. MOORE who married MARY LILLY HARDEN was not a Junior. There is a Clem Moore buried in Fulton Cemetery, but as far as we know he is not related to our family. Our Clem C. Moore was the youngest son of John Moore b. 1802 SC and Elizabeth Green b. 1811 KY. We all love the stories of Uncle Clem and how he hung smoked meat high in trees to keep the yankees from finding it. He also told of riding a mule to get the doctor because someone was having a baby and the yankee commander told his men to let him go on when the soldiers tried to take the mule. Your family must have stories like this, so don't let the stories pass on, too. Talk to your elders and write down what they have to say. I wish that I had started doing just that years ago. Missy
Missy is my cousin and I made corrections as to Clem's father & Mother. She is getting up in age is the only reason I can think of for the error. She has taught me sooooo much about my Southern Roots.
I have personally been to both graves at Harden's Chapel and verify they are both there. Anita Moore

Jim created the Find A Grave website in 1995 because he could not find an existing site that catered to his hobby of visiting the graves of famous people. He found that there are many thousands of folks around the world who share his interests. What began as an odd hobby became a livelihood and a passion. Building and seeing Find A Grave grow beyond his wildest expectations has been immensely satisfying for Jim. Every day, contributors from around the world enter new records, thousands use the site as an educational reference tool, long-lost loved ones are located and millions of lives are fondly remembered. In what other line of work would Jim have met one of the last living Munchkins, spoken to a gathering of grave enthusiasts in a Hollywood mausoleum and acquired treasures like his antique coffin screwdriver (it only screws in)?
