Joseph was the son of Michel Morasse and Marie Anne Beaumont. He was born 15 February 1831 and baptized the same day in Saint-Ambroise-de-la-Jeune-Lorette Parish, Loretteville, in modern-day Québec. His godparents were Louis Beaumont and Geneviève Duchesneau.[1]
Joseph was living with his parents and siblings on the 1851 Census of Canada for Saint-Raymond[2] and the 1861 Census of Canada for Saint-Raymond.[3]
Joseph died on his thirty-first birthday, and was buried two days later in St-Raymond. He was unmarried at the time of his death.[4]
