Both couples Abel and Sarah, and John and Lora, had daughters named Margaret of similar age on 1850 census. Margaret Jane is the one who married Wyatt. As you found a M/R which names Abel as wife's father, apparently this change is correct. It has to be the Abel b. 1814, prob. m. 1837.

Hi Tim! I'll get this sorted out. I was using 100+ DNA matches for the Sergeant line from Ancestry + GEDmatch.

I agree that the 1850 census is in conflict with the current state of these records.

I should be able to add you back as a manager.

There's a photo of a handwritten record of Abel Morgan giving permission to I.C. Wyatt to marry his daughter Margaret Jane Morgan in 1863:

"Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797-1954," database with images, FamilySearch (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:Q28L-57XQ : 22 July 2021), J C Wyatt and Margret Jane Morgan, 25 Apr 1863; citing Marriage, Clay, Webster, Kentucky, United States, various county clerks and county courts, Kentucky; FHL microfilm 986,529.

That certainly looks like the applicable M/R so I guess you've resolved the uncertainty. My wife's niece started out with yet a different guess.

Morgan-28456 and Morgan-20033 appear to represent the same person because: Clear duplicate. DNA matches on both profiles.
