Biography
Mary was born in 1848. Mary Morris married Jacob A. Armentrout around 1877. [1]
Sometime in 1877, she married Jacob Armentrout,[citation needed] and at the time of the 1880 Census they are living in Stonewall, Rockingham County, Virginia with five children in the household: Minnie, Jacob, Ida, Emmett, and John, as well as Jacob's niece Julia A.B. Black.[2]
Mary was widowed by 1910 when she is shown in the census with her two adult daughters, Minnie and Ida. She says she is the mother of four children, and three are living. There is a young boy named Hamilton D. Hart who is living in the household. There's no indication of his relationship to Mary.[3]
In 1920, Mary is living with her daughter Minnie, who is also widowed and has three children. Hamilton David Hart, who was living with Mary in 1910 is also living with her in 1920 and is shown to be an orphan.[4]
Polly passed away in 1924.[5]

- There is a Polly Armentrout married to William Armentrout, and they had a daughter named Minnie B. Armentrout on 31 Aug 1876 in Cheese Creek, Virginia.[6] Is this the same Polly?? -- Fiscus-32 13:27, 25 July 2020 (UTC)

It looks like we have a match here. I created the profile for Mary (Morris) Armentrout using the birthdate from the 1910 & 1920 censuses, and they were far enough off that yours didn't come up.

I'm working my way backward from Ida, so I hadn't identified the other children yet. Glad you already have everyone here. These Armentrouts are a tough crowd to sort out! :-)
