This unamed son was born on 1 June 1875 in DeKalb, Alabama, USA. He was the son of Tapleton Washington Morton and Nancy Jane (Gilbert) Morton.

He died at the age of less than one day on 1 June 1875 in DeKalb, Alabama.

Research Notes

  • We don't know if this child was the product of oral history, because no source is given. No record could be found on Findagrave or a familysearch.org search, nor a brief Google search. However, the 1880 census for the Tapleton Morton family showed them with a 5 year old daughter named Sarah. There were also sons aged 3 and 7 in the family. For this son to have been born in 1875, it would seem he'd have to be Sarah's twin. it is claimed that Sarah was Sarah Lucinda (Morton) Adams who died in San Bernardino County, California on 22 July 1948. It is known that issue of Tapleton and Nancy (Gilbert) Morton did settle in San Bernardino County, but Sarah Adams Findagrave site #150948487 shows no gravestone or other data to substantiate it's claim that she was born on 27 May 1876 in DeKalb County, Alabama. If that date is correct, and she was the sister of this unknown son, then she was actually born almost a year after the unnamed brother's death date. Not impossible, but unlikely.
