Biography
Name: Finis Abner Murray
Finis Abner Murray was born 18 May 1879 in Logan County, Kentucky, USA. [See Research Notes] By 1900 Finis was out on his own and living in Hazelwood, Webster, Missouri.[1] It was also in Webster County that we find him, using his middle name, being wed to Estella Murray on 26 Apr 1908.[2] He took up farming in Finley, Webster, Missouri shortly thereafter[3] and by 1930 had his 84 year old Mother-In-Law living with them there.[4] Finis and Estella remained childless throughout their marriage and he passed away 27 May 1942 in Seymour, Webster, Missouri and is buried in the Seymour Masonic Cemetery there.[5]
Research Notes: While Finis' gravestone cites his birth as 1878 his World War I & World War II Draft Registration Cards as well as his death certificate gives a birthdate as 18 May 1879.[6][7][8]
