Biography

When Alexander Birckett "Burton" NANCE was born on June 22, 1855 {1859*}, in North Carolina, his father, James, was 21 and his mother, Mary, was 19. He married Sallie NORWOOD and they had one son together. He then married Vicie Mae WILEY and they had six children together. He died on June 3, 1933, in Jerusalem, Arkansas, at the age of 77, and was buried there.

*NOTE: birth year on grave marker has 1855 but Alexender is only 1 year old on 1860 census; 11 years old on 1870 census and 20 years old on 1880 census.^{[1][2] [3]}
