Biography
Dorsey was born in Clay Township in 1874, the son of Jerome Nay and Minerva (Harrison) Nay. His mother passed away in 1877 and his father remarried, marrying Cordelia Alice Long in 1879. Dorsey married Gertrude Walker (1885-1960), the daughter of J. H. Walker and Mary Russell, marrying in Harrison County on February 28, 1899.[1] Their children included:
- Georgia Blanche Nay (1900-1966)
- Mary Elizabeth (Nay) Shreves (1902-1943)
- Louise M. Nay (1905-)
- John Edgar Nay (1909-)
They made their home in Clay Township where Dorsey worked as an engineer and fireman at the coal mine.[2][3]
He passed away in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, where his daughter, Georgie, lived at the age of 54.[4] He is buried at IOOF Cemetery in Enterprise, West Virginia.[5]
