Biography
The daughter of Dorsey Nay and Gertrude (Walker) Nay, Louise was born in Enterprise in 1906.[1][2][3] She married Edward Thomas Tavenner (1902-1985), the son of Ralph Douglas Tavenner and Elizabeth McCormick Lindsay, marrying in Wellsburg, West Virginia on September 30, 1929.[4]
In April of 1930, Louise and her four-year-old daughter, Phyllis (1926-), were enumerated in her parents' household in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.[5] Their son, Edward, Jr.(, was born in 1936. In 1940, Louise and Edward Tavenner, and their children, lived in Aliquippa, where her husband worked as a "pipe wielder" in the steel industry.[6] The couple divorced before 1950; that year, Louise and her son, Edward, lived in Winchester, Virginia, where Louise worked as a sales clerk at a retail clothing store.[7]
Louise Tavenner passed away in Brewster, Massachusetts at the age of 81[8][9] and is buried at Island Pond Cemetery in Harwich, Massachusetts.[10]
