John Needels was a Virginia colonist.

John Needles, possibly son of William Nettles and Penelope Unknown, was born about 1638 in England.

A John Needles is known to be in Virginia Colony by March 1652:

John Needles, 300 acs. on N. E. side of a Cr. near Horne Harbour &c. to Mrs. Morrysons marked tree, etc. &c. 10 Mar 1652, p. 190. Trans. of 6 pers: John Wiseman, Joane Curle, John Needles, Abbalto a Negro, John Cooke, Eliza. his wife, John Cooke his sonn. Land due for last right.[1]

By 1655, John had settled in Lancaster County, Virginia Colony, which taxed him based on his labor force, assessing him two tithables, 6 Feb 1655,[2] for three tithables, 7 Dec 1655,[3] for three tithables, 16 Dec 1657,[4] for five tithables, 31 Oct 1658,[5] for five tithables, 30 Nov 1659,[6] and for seven tithables, 15 Nov 1660.[7]

On 9 November 1691 Mrs. Frances Needs [sic] was called to "appear at ye next Court held for this [Middlesex] County to give an Acct. of what right she holds possession of Mr. Jno: Needles, deced., his Estate."
At Middlesex County Court 7 December 1691:
Probate of ye Last Will & Testament of Mr. John Needles Senr., deced., is granted to Mrs. Frances Needles, ye Exrx. of ye sd. Mr. John Needles.

Lacking a will or exact death date, one can assume John Needles died about October 1691 in Middlesex County, Virginia.
