Charles Edward Nevels, 88, Lexington, Mo., died Sept. 14, 1994, in a nursing home in Lexington. Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday at the Walker-Nadler Chapel, Lexington; burial in Machpelah Cemetery, Lexington. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. Mr. Nevels was born in Macomb, Mo ., and lived in Lexington most of his life. He was an auto mechanic, retiring in the early 1970s. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Lexington. His first wife, Berna Marie Nevels, died in 1950. His second wife, Lula Nevels, died in 1986. Survivors include a son, James W. Nevels, and a stepson, Robert Welch, both of Lexington; two stepdaughters, Marilyn Woods, Higginsville, Mo., and Lula Belle Morris, Lexington; three brothers, John Nevels and Aymon Nevels of Lexington and George R. Nevels, Mayview, Mo.; four sisters, Verna McMillan, Higginsville, Ruth Stigall and Pearl Russell of Lexington and Kathleen Perry, Victoria, Texas; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grand- children.
