Biography

Martha Newhall, child of John Newhall and Elizabeth Potter, was born on 18 December 1722 in Lynn, Massachusetts, United States.[1]


Martha Newhall and Theophilus Breed announced their intention to marry on 7 April 1745 at Lynn, Massachusetts [2]. They married on 10 December 1745 [3]. They had 2 children [4]:

  1. Lydia (Breed) Johnson (1746-1776)
  2. Martha (Breed) Newhall (1749-1827)

Martha (Newhall) Breed died (age 26) on 17 April 1749 in Lynn, Massachusetts.[5] Her grave is represented to be in Western Burial Ground, Lynn, Essex County, Massachusetts. [6] No grave marker is depicted, however a transcribed grave marker inscription appears in the cited caption:

Here lyes ye body of Mrs. Martha Breed, the wife of Mr. Theophilus Breed, aged 26 years. Died April ye 17th 1749.

Notes

After the death of Martha, her widower married Martha's sister, Mary Newhall. They had two children.
