Matric 27.10.1869; Bible Clerk Oriel College, Oxford 1870-3; BA 1873; MA 1881. Incumbent of St James', Quebec. Wells College 1878, Deacon 1879, Priest 1881 Sarum. Curate of Warminster 1879-1881; St Matthew Quebec 1882-84; Rector of Jamestown Rhode Island 1884-88; Lexington, Mass 1888-89; Holy Trinity, Levis 1889-91; SPG (Society for the Propagation of the Gospel) Miss at Shigawake 1892-3; Riviere du Corp 1893-8; Fitch Bay 1898-1901. In 1881 Census for England as Curate of Warminster aged 29 living at West Street, Warminster.
Was prepared for Holy Orders in England and by 1895 he was a clergyman living in Jamestown, Rhode Island, U.S. m. Julia Louisa Adery CARTER 28.10.1883 [27.4.1863 - 17.11.1890] at St Matthews Church, Quebec. The eldest dau of W.H. Carter Esq of H.M. Customs, Quebec, formerly of H.M. 16th Regt. d. 23.2.1927 Had issue: 1. Jasper Henry Hume b. 7.2.1886 In the 1891 Census for Canada aged 5 living with his father in Quebec. He was a Chemist and worked at the Government Fuel Testing Plant, Booth Street, Ottawa. He wrote a number of books about coal and other solid fuels. m. Elizabeth Constance ALMON 11.9.1919 [28.11.1895 - ?] d. 1968
