Elna (Nilsdotter) Winberg was a Latter Day Saint pioneer.
Biography
Elna (Nilsdotter) Winberg migrated from Sweden to America.
Elna Nilsdotter was born in Tirup 10 January 1803 to husmannen Nils Christensson and his wife.[1]
She served in Lund 1819-1822[2] and then again from 1823.[3][4]
In 1824 she had a daughter, Johanna Christina, out of wedlock in the town of Lund.[5]
Elna Nilsdotter married shoemaker Sven Andersson Winberg 11 April 1829.[6] They lived in Lund and had a son, Anders Vilhelm, 13 April 1830.[7] Johanna Christina is also in the household.[8] They had at least four more children.[9]
She is noted as "Mormon" in the church records 1854-1859, but not her husband nor the children still living with their parents.[10]
Elna Nilsdotter seems to have accompanied her daughter Josephine Benedicta Winberg to America in 1865. Josephine is noted in the household record as having her emigration papers signed 18 April 1865, while Elna is noted as having gone without the proper papers.[11]
