1886,"TOM" left his family in Union County Georgia and headed for Cripple Creek, Colorado gold fields near Rye Colorado to "stake his claim"

Tom claimed he did discover gold but his claim was "stolen". His wife, Martha, finally made her way to Colorado where she lived to be 99 years of age; she is buried in Eaton, Colorado.
