Biography

Payton was born about 1820. He was the son of Thomas Nunn and Frances Woodall. He passed away about 1893.

Payton Nunn was enumerated at 66th Division, Oglethorpe County, Georgia for the October 24, United States Census, 1850. He was noted as born 1820 in Georgia and a farmer as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Elizabeth Nunn, female Martha Nunn, male Jesse Nunn, female Mary Nunn, male Hor? [Flornoy] Nunn and female [Amanda] Nunn.[1]

Payton F Nunn was enumerated at Post Office Phi Delta, 7th Malitia District, Banks County, Georgia for the August 2, United States Census, 1860. He was noted as born 1821 in Georgia. He was a farmer and had $592 in value of personal estate as seen in the image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Roda A E Nunn, male Jesse C Nunn, female Mary F Nunn, male William F Nunn, female Manda O Nunn, male Marshell C Nunn, male Thomas H Nunn, male Isaac C Nunn, female Ann E Nunn, male Payton L Nunn and male James M Nunn.[2]

Peyton R Nunn was enumerated at Madison, Morgan County Post Office, Madison, Morgan County, Georgia for the July 25, United States Census, 1870. He was noted as born 1820-1821 in Georgia and a farmer. He was leased in regards to real estate and had $700 in value of personal assets as seen in this image of the original census. Also included in the household are female Elizabeth Nunn, male Marshal C Nunn, male Thomas H Nunn, male Calary C Nunn, female Anna E Nunn, male Peyton L Nunn, male James M Nunn and male William J Nunn.[4]

Payton F. Nunn was listed as the father of Walter N. Nunn who died April 13, 1923 in Columbus, Muscogee County, Georgia. The mother was listed as Elizabeth Langton.[5]

Nunn-3479 and Nunn-469 appear to represent the same person because: Peyton Nunn did not appear as a possible profile for Payton Nunn when I created the shell for Payton Nunn but they are the same individual.

There are 2 more children listed on Find A Grave, Clarence and Maggie. I find this information incredulous as their mother would have had them when she was 63 and 69 (very doubtful). But those 2 children need to be entered on the Wikitree somewhere
