Biography

Sarah Nutley was born about 1814 in Newington-next-Hythe, Kent, England to William Nutley and Elizabeth (Pain) Nutley. She was christened in Newington-next-Hythe on 23 Jan 1814.^[1]

Sarah Nutley married Richard Webb on 29 Jan 1831 in Newington-next-Hythe.^[2]

Sarah and Richard had at least nine children: Sarah Webb (1833-), Mary Webb (1835-), Eliza Webb (1838-), Maria Webb (1840-), William Webb (1841-), Richard Webb (1843-), George Webb (1845-), James Webb (1853-), and Jane Nutley Webb (1855-). Another daughter is assiciated with them: Rebecca (Webb) Taylor (1829-1874) - however, she was born before they married, and in a different location than any of their other children, so she is most likely the child of a different couple.

In 1841 Sarah Webb (age 30-34) lived at Road's Minnis in Elham, Kent with her husband Richard (35-39) and five children: Sarah (8), Mary (6), Eliza (3), Maria (1), and William (0).^[3]

In 1851 Sarah Webb (age 37) lived in Lyminge, Kent with her husband Richard (42, Ag Lab) and four children: Eliza (13, Scholar), Maria (11, Scholar), William (9, Scholar), and George (5).^[4]

In 1861 Sarah Webb (age 47) lived at Rhodes Mills in Lyminge with her husband Richard (52, Agricultural Labourer) and four children: Maria (21), George (15), Elgar Jas (8), and Jane Nutley (6).^[5]

Sarah Webb passed away in 1868, aged 54 years. Her death was registered in Elham in the second quarter of the year.^[6]
