In 1841, sixteen year old Menear was with his parents and siblings in Castle St, Bodmin, Cornwall, England. His grandmother Elizabeth was living next door.[7]
Menear Oliver and Margaret Wagfer/Wakfer were married in 1851 in Clerkenwell, Middlesex, England.[8] Children from this marriage were:

In 1861, Menear, a Law Stationer Managing Clerk, Margaret, their two daughters, a servant and three lodgers were at 25a Lower Great Percy Street, Clerkenwell St James, Middlesex, England.[9]
Menear Oliver died on 6 January 1863 at age 37 at 26a Great Percy St, Clerkenwell, London, Middlesex, England[10][11] and was buried on 8 January 1863 at Abney Park Cemetery, Stoke Newington, London Borough of Hackney, Greater London, England.[12][13]
Probate on Menear Oliver's Estate of less than £450 was granted on 21 January 1863 to his widow Margaret Oliver and brother John Oliver.[10]
