Biography

Francois was born in 1734 in Saintonge, France. He married Catherine Michel. He was the stepfather of Veronique, Andre and Simon Tregre. His children with Catherine Michel were Francois fils, Jean -Baptiste, Marie Magdelaine and Pierre. [1] He passed away in 1799.

Francois Olivier, Leonard Perriou (Perillou), Adam Vicner (Vicnair), Baltazard Vicner and Claude Joseph Gros petition O'Conor to name a tutor and surrogate tutor for the minor children of the late Francois Dupont (4 girls and 1 boy). Francois Olivier is named tutor and Baltazard Vicner is named surrogate tutor. The sum of 3100 piastres is remitted by O'Conor to Francois Olivier. The sum represents the inheritance of the minors: Francois Dupont, fils, Veronique and Catherine Dupont.
Remittance, May 15, 1787. O'Conor remits to Francois Oliver the sum of 2273 piastres. The sum represents the inheritance of the minors Marie Barbe and Marie Magdelaine Dupont. Witnesses: Leonard Periou (Perillou), Charles Deriblon Petavin and Francois Pir (?).

Witnessed by Joseph Gros and Leonard Perrilloux [s/Perillou]. The property is being sold so that Olivier can settle with the heirs of Francois DUPONT, of whom he was tutor. Slaves listed are Allexandre, around 18, Congo nation; Marie, around 25, Congo nation; Pierre, around 30, Congo nation; Bartte, around 50, Nar nation; Baptiste, around 40, Congo nation; Pittre, around 40, Hiebou nation; and Marie, around 40, Minan nation. Inventory dated 8 April 1794 of the community property belonging to OLIVIER, andhis late wife, Caterine MICHELLE, who died some time ago leaving two children from the first marriage. Olivier is forced to sell the land to settle with the heirs of Francois Dupond, of whom he was the tutor, as well as his chldren and step children. The land is described as 8x40 arpents on the right bank of the river ascending around 14 leagues from New Orleans, bounded below by Baltazar Wicner and above by Widow Laubel. Bidders are Leonard Perrilloux, Verloin De Guize, and Baltazar Wicner. The winner is WICNER [s/VICNER] At 1,955 piastres, Antoine Borne security. Witnessed by Jean Duhart [s/Duhart], Matis Orrey [s/Matthias Ory], Leonard Perilloux [s/ Perillou], Francois OLIVIER, and Antoine Borne. Declaration dated 11 March 1795 by Francois Olivier, Sr., that he received full payment from Baltazar Vicner through Mr. Andry. INVENTORY OF THE PROPERTY BELONGING TO FRANCOIS OLIVIER WHICH IS BEING SOLD IN ORDER THAT HE MIGHT SETTLE WITH THE HEIRS OF FRANCOIS DUPONT. A certain amount of the property of Francois Olivier is to be sold in order that he might settle with the heirs of Francois Dupont. Inventory of the items to be sold is made by Jacques Leche and Mathias Aurri (Ory) in the presence of Joseph Gros and Leonard Perillou. First item inventories and appraised is a farm 8 arpents wide by the customary depth. The inventory appraised at 4968 piastres. Francois Olivier petitions that the inventoried items be sold at public auction.
Inventory of the Community Property of Francois Olivier and his late wife, Catherine Michel, May 8, 1794. Before the sale mentioned above took place, the wife of Francois Olivier died leaving several children by her two marriages. The children of her first marriage were Simon and Veronique Tregre. She had three children by Olivier. Therefore, Andry takes an inventory of the community property remaining after that necessary for the settlement with the Dupont children is put aside. The inventory is taken by Jean Duhart, Jean-Baptiste Barre and Mathias Ory in the presence of Simon Tregre, Leonard Periollou, Jacques Periollou, Francois and Jean Olviier, sons of Francois Olivier pere and Catherine Michel. Debts are owed to the community by: Jean-Baptiste Foisil, Pierre Bossie pere, Leonard Perillou. Debts owed by the community to: Cheneau. Appraised value of the community property: 964 piastres.

PUBLIC SALE OF THE FARM OF FRANCOIS OLIVIER. Francois Olivier declares to Andry that he is forced to sell his farm in order to settle with the heirs of the late Francois Dupont, for whom he is tutor, and to settle with his children and stepchildren following the death of his wife, Catherine Michel. Sale of the farm is announced in front the church by Giles Cantin. The farm is 8 arpents wide by the customary depth, bounded below by the farm of Baltazard Wicner and above by that of Widow Laubel. Bids were submitted by: Leoanrd Perillou, Verloin De Gruise and Baltazard Wicner. Sold to Baltazard Vicner for 1950 piastres. He names Antoine Borne as his bondsman. Witnesses: Jean Duahrt and Mathias Ory.
Receipt, March 11, 1795. Francois Olivier pere declares to Andry in the presence of Antoine Folse, Pierre Bossie fils, and Leonard Perillou, that he has received from Baltazard Wicner the sum due from the above sale.
No. 6 dated February 3, 1794
PUBLIC SALE OF THE BELONGINGS OF FRANCOIS OLIVIER, Feb. 3, 1794, to which is added the Second Sale made on May 13, 1794. O'Conor went Francois Olivier's farm to place in public sale those items which Olivier sought to sell in order to settle with the heirs of Francois Dupont. Giles Cantin announced the sale. Sale conducted in the presence of the Dupont heirs, Jean-Baptiste Barre, George Deslonde, Mathias Ory and Leonard Perillou. Buyers and their bondsmen were: Mathias Ory, J. Pauche, Andre Tregre, Antoine Clereaux (Clerot), George Chof (Schaf), George Deslonde, Pierre LaBiche, Maurice Helfer, Jean Borne, Antoine Wicner fils, Francois Dupont fils, Leonard Perillou, Jean Helle, Antoie Fouche, Verloin De Gruise, Cadet Picou, Jean-Baptiste Barre, Louis Orey, Trouhard, Jacques Miller, Simon Treger, Vincent Marsan, Jean Rambeaux, Jean-Baptiste Perillou. The sle of the animals is postponed to later in the spring. Proceeds of this sale are handed over to Francois Olivier who, in turn, settles with Jean-Baptiste Perillou who is marrie dto one of the Dupont heirs.
Sale, May 13, 1794. Since the above sale was held, Madame Olviier has died leaving several children by her two marriage to Tregre and Olivier. These children are: Simon and Veronique Tregre-- Veronique is married to Leonard Perillou; Marie Olivier, her child by Francois Oliver, is married to Jacques Perillou; Francois Olivier fils and Jean Olvier. O'Conor places the community property up for sale so that there may be a settlement between Francois Oliver, his children and stepchildren, George Deslonde, Jean Duhart, Firmain Songy and Mathias Ory. Buyers and their bondsmen were: Francois Dupont fils, Adam Jacob, Francois Olivier pere, Antoine Vicner (son of Adam Wicner), Simon Tregre, Yves Berthelote, Vicnent Marsan, Mathias Ory, Urbain Picou fils, Leoanrd Perillou, Verloin de Gruys, Antoine Folse, Nicolas Picou, Jacques de Lagroue, Baltazard Vicner, Jean-Baptiste Picou (son of Urbain Picou), Francois Olivier fils, Jean-Baptiste Vicner (son of Adam Vicner), Teodroe Tregre, Jean-Baptiste Perillou, Pierre Folse, Jean-Baptiste Laubel, Jacques Perillou, Giles Cantin, Pierre Gagnard, and Jean-Baptiste Barre.
Receipt, March 10, 1795. Franocis Olivier pere declares, in the presence of Antoine Folse, Pierre Bossie fils and Leonard Perillou, that he has received from Andry the proceeds of the above sale.

His mother and wife have the same name (different profiles), is that correct? Actually, it looks like he was born before his mother, at least according to biography. The dates for "mother" match that for "wife". Will remove her as his mother.
