Richard was born about 1700 in Charles City County, Virginia Colony. He was the son of Richard Pace and Rebecca Poythress.

Richard passed away about 1775 near Augusta, Edgefield County, South Carolina (Aiken County, South Carolina in 1871).

Richard Pace was witness to the will of William Cain on 3 March 1732 in Bertie County, North Carolina.[1]

The following land transactions were posted to the genealogy.com/forum on 24 February 2011. It is not certain they belong to this Richard Pace. They have not been confirmed by me. Strutton-11 12:37, 22 April 2016 (EDT)

Note: These transactions are from Nash County, North Carolina. Nash County was formed from the western part of Edgecombe County, North Carolina in 1777.

  • 21 September 1759: Richard Pace of Prince George County, Virginia, bought 150 acres on the south side of Fishing Creek… From Thomas Drake for 35 pounds.
  • 1 December 1759: Richard and his brother John sold 16 acres in Martins Brandon Parish, Virginia in the Blackwater Swamp area to William Goodwyn.
  • January 1760: John pace bought a 190 acre place in Edgecombe on the south bank of Beaver Dam Swamp… From Thomas Hart. He paid 31 pounds, 10 shillings.
  • 1769: Richard Pace died, leaving no will. His wife Elizabeth was appointed administratrix [Sic]. An account of the sale of the estate, possibly the personal estate, was rendered under oath by Samuel Ruffin, Sheriff in August, 1769.
