Biography

Sir John Pakington ((d. 1551) married Anne Dacres, who "was the daughter of Henry Dacres of Mayfield, Staffordshire. . ."

TudorPlace site has Sir John Pakington marrying once, making Anne (Dacres) Pakington the mother of Ursula and Bridget. Oxford-Shakespeare.com concurs. Michael Hodgetts (HARVINGTON HALL, 1998) does not.

"He married Anne, seemingly daughter of Henry Dacres, sheriff of London and widow of Robert Fairthwayte, and perhaps also one Tychborne. She died in 1563."

The will of Sir John Pakington (TNA PROB 11/34, ff. 233-4), dated 16 Aug. 1551, proved 30 Oct. 1551. (Nina Green, at oxford-Shakespeare.com, provides copy and comment.)

History of Parliament, and the Birth entry below, show his b. date as "by 1488".

The abt. 1477 b. date simply doesn't fit with other family members and two decades between siblings is highly unlikely. I'm going to change the b. guess to that shown in HOP, of "by 1488".

Let me know please if anyone thinks otherwise.

Thanks.

Pakington-22 and Pakington-2 appear to represent the same person because: Both are Sir John Pakington of Hampton Lovett, MP (d. 1560).

Pakington-5 and Pakington-2 appear to represent the same person because: This is part of several merges needed to eliminate duplicates in the intersection of the Baskervilles and Pakingtons.
