Biography

Emily, 47 years, born in Leeds, Yorkshire,^[1] was living on her own means at 14 Sunderland Ave in 1891.

With her was her eldest son, Arthur Edmond Paul LRCPE, MRCSE, Phys and Surg Practioner, of 28 years, born Sydney New South Wales. And her youngest son, Harold Edgar, 16 years, born Brisbane, Queensland, imbecile since childhood. Edith Higginson, 17 years, was their general servant, born Marylebone, London.^[2]

She returned to her husband in Brisbane during this decade: "The wife of Mr. Judge Paul, who has spent some years in England, has returned to Queensland."^[3]

And then back to Paddington. In 1901, now 57 years, she lived with her youngest son at 16 Westbourne Park Villas, Paddington. Albert H Warbrond, age 25, as was Harold Edgar, was "attendant on epileptic". Albert was born in Hersham, Surrey. The domestic servant of the household was Susan P Faulkner, 26 years, born St Pancras, London.^[4]

Emily was in Australia (St Kilda, Victoria, to be exact) in December of 1905, to attend her son, Fred's, marriage to Fanny Townsend. ^[5] She returned to England, where she died in 1907. Emily's will shows her estate was worth £219 6s 3d (two hundred and nineteen pounds, six shillings and three pence). The executor/administrator was her eldest son, Dr Arthur E. Paul, also residing in England.^[6]
