He served the United States Army during World War II. He was a Private First Class in the 339th Infantry Regiment and the 85th Infantry Division. He received the Purple Heart for his service.[1]
He married Novelene Miller on February 11, 1941 in Blount County, Alabama.[2] They didn't have children.
He died, at the age of 26, on April 17, 1945 in Italy.[3] He is buried at the Florence American Cemetery and Memorial, Florence, Città Metropolitana di Firenze, Toscana, Italy.[4]
