Mary or Mariah J. Patterson, daughter of John Patterson and Caroline Cox was born about 1867, probably in Tennessee.

She appeared on the census of 21 Aug. 1870 in the home of her father at Round Prairie Township, Benton County, Arkansas. [1]

She appeared on the census of 5 June 1880 in the home of her step-mother Martha at Wallace Township, Benton County, Arkansas.[2]
