Biography

Roy was born in 1881 in Brown County Ohio. At the age of 17, he married Laura Fite in Clermont County. They had one known child, Sylba, born in 1904. Laura must have passed away soon after Sylba's birth. The widowed Roy married again in 1906, to Lula Klockenbrenk. They lived in Cincinnati, Ohio, where initially Roy worked as a glass worker. In the 1920s, he worked as a tester of auto radiators, and in the 1930s, as a metal worked in a coffin factory. By 1940, he and Lula were living with their daughter Sylba and her husband. He passed away in 1959 and was interred at Spring Grove Cemetery.

Research Notes

Roy was born in 1881. His birth record shows his name as "Milroy", same as his father. His father may be Milton Roy Patton (1861-1939), also called Milroy on early census, and then Milton Roy later. The hesitation in confirming Patton 8388 as his father is that on the marriage record of Roy b 1881, and on his birth record, his mother's name was Emma Robbins. No records have yet been found for Emma. While the age and location for this profile (Patton-8406) seem to fit, more research is needed to confirm that there was not another Milton Roy.
