Biography

Julia Pelton, daughter of John and Martha (Pelton) Pelton, was born on 10 Ja. 1804.

"Julia, born Jan. 10, 1804; married in the fall of 1822, in Livingston Co., N. Y., Ezra Whitney (who died at Pavilion, Kalamazoo Co., Mich., April 26, 1851). Lived at Livonia, N. Y., down to 1848, and then removed to Spring Arbor, Jackson Co., Mich., and there died, June 25, 1849, leaving six children. Note. — [Julia was ] brunettes and a handsome woman."[1]

She married Ezra Whitney in 1822 in Livingston County, New York.[1]

Ezra died in 1849 and she and her children appeared on the census of 9 Sep. 1850 in the home of her son at Wayland, Allegan County, Michigan. Her daughter Martha and husband Elijah Skutt was living next to them.[2]

Julia died on 26 April 1851 at Kalamazoo County, Michigan.[1]
