Biography

Captain Joseph Pendleton I was born on 29 Dec 1661 in Sudbury, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay, as the second child of James Pendleton and Hannah Goodenow.[1]

Marriage

When he was 35, he married Patience Potts, daughter of William Potts and Rebecca Avery, on 17 Dec 1700 in Westerly. (By Nehemiah Smith, Justice). [2]

Civil Service

in 1697, Captain Joseph Pendleton was employed as a Constable in Westerly. He died in 1706 and was buried in Westerly,Kings, Rhode Island, on what was known as the Pendleton Ground - Pendleton Burial Ground. (Champlin Dr. - Avondale at Tel. pole #510).

He was town clerk when he died [3]

His wife presented his will to the Westerly town council on 10 October 1706.[4]
