Biography
Not much is recorded about this marriage. They had two children. My Aunt related a story that Arthur was forced by his father to end the marriage, leaving Esther and Arthur Jr. to fend for themselves. The other child, Winifred was given up for adoption. There are no sources to substantiate the story as of yet, but, my Aunt was not one to lead people astray with stories (my mom was, but that's another story). Esther was in the military as she was buried in a National Cemetery. Esther Washburn, PVT1C US ARMY, born: 12 Mar 1901, died: 31 Dec 1982. She was the wife of Adelbert F Washburn. Her interment took place on 4 Jan 1983, at Long Island National Cemetery, 2040 Wellwood Avenue Farmingdale, NY 11735-1211: Section M Site 27506[1]
