Research Notes
There is potential confusion concerning the first marriage of Nathaniel Phelps to Hannah Bissell, as the handwritten record (see [5]; see also the presumed initial entry, [6]) indicates Hannah's maiden name as Hannah Phelps, and is dated 28 March 1699. The actual marriage of Lt. Nathaniel Phelps and Hannah Bissell evidently took place on 28 March 1700. A separate record dated 20 March is presumably a record of intentions.
