DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Josiah by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Josiah:

AND this Phelps-1780 parents aren't John and Sarah (Buckland) Phelps! I believe they are Isaac and Anna (Gaylord) Phelps. This entire family needs to be revisited, clarified and cleaned up with proper biographies, sourcing and checking on parents.

PM, please check the profile for Phelps-1780. He and his first wife, Elizabeth (Taylor) Phelps had some eight children and she gave birth to their last child in 1723. It is highly unlikely that Samuel could have married Abigail Griswold in 1711 and then Sarah (Unknown) in 1721 when Elizabeth Taylor was still childbearing in 1724. All of the extant birth/christening records that I could find for these first eight children all list Josiah Phelps and wife Elizabeth. This is a GEDCOM import (as was Elizabeth Taylor's). Please check and correct.

I just started to revise the Phelps-1780 profile. I believe he is conflated with at least one other Josiah Phelps because the parents for this Josiah are correct; however birth date, location and other information are incorrect. Again, please look for the correct Phelps husbands for Abigail Griswold and Sarah (Unknown), or review and correct any errors that I may have made.

AND...Josiah and Elizabeth (Taylor) Phelps didn't have a son Josiah in 1708. They had a daughter Ann. Of their eight children, none of the sons are named Josiah.
