Biography

Nellie was born in 1785. She is the daughter of John Porter and Nancy McKenzie.

The Porter Genealogy says the following[1]:

NELLIE PORTER, daughter of John Porter and Nancy Ann McKenzie was born in Wellersburg, Pa. in 1785. FP refers to her as Nellie Mattingly-Winters. This would imply two marriages. JAS believes that she married a Mittinger and has seen a stone in the Porter Cemetery, “Dear Aunt Nellie Mittinger”, near a monument to John Porter. John Barchus finds in his father’s notebook, “Aunt Nellie Mattingly-Born 1785, died 1855.”

Porter-12049 and Porter-19005 appear to represent the same person because: Hello this is a perfect match as Nellie had a first husband. Then she married Mattingly
