Her birth record gives dob as July 10, 1843, in Leominster, MA.^[1]

MARRIAGE:

Marriage intentions for the marriage of Henry A. Boutelle and Martha Powers in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts, June 8, 1867.^[2]

Marriage record says marriage was June 11, 1867, in Leominster, MA to Henry A. Boutelle.^[3]

CENSUS':

Martha is found in the 1850 U.S, census of Leominster, MA where she is 8 yrs old and living with her parents, Darwin & Mary H; sister Melissa, age-3 and brother, Ezra, age-2.^[4]

The 1855 US Census of Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts finds this Martha at the age of 13yrs old and given as born in Massachusetts. She is living there in Leominster with her 46yr old father, Darwin Powers, her 40yr old mother, Mary and three siblings; 8yr old Eliza, 5yr old Ezra W. and 2yr old Edwin W. A 16yr old child named Martin Dinan is also living in the household.^[5]

1880 US Census finds Martha, her husband, Henry and 4 children living in Leominster, Worcester, Massachusetts. Given name in the record is "Boutell," but we are certain the last name of this family was actually "Boutelle and that this is the correct family. Record gives Martha as 37 yrs old born in Massachusetts with both of her parents born in Massachusetts.^[6]

DEATH:

Her death record is found. Dies January 5, 1887 in Leominster, MA, of pneumonia. Suggests her middle initial was "P". Says she was 44-yrs, 5-months, 26-days old at time of death. Has name as Bontelle. Was really Boutelle.^[7]
