Biography

John was born about 1660; his origin and parents are unknown. John married Martha Pratt (no relation known) at Malden in 1686^[1] and they raised a family there.

John made a will on January 1, 1738/9. He mentions wife Martha, "beloved daughter Mary Green," "deceased daughter Martha Green" and his grandchildren. Son-in-law Isaac Green and grandson David were executors when it was proved in 1742. Listed in the estate inventory were "1 old negro man" and "1 cow," each valued at 10£. (His featherbed was valued at 11£.)^[2]

"Dea. John husb. of the late Martha, in 82 y.," died in November of 1742, six weeks after his wife.^{[3] [4]} He is buried at Bell Rock Cemetery in Malden, Mass.
