Peter Presley Sr. was a Virginia colonist.

Peter Presley[1] was born about 1638, probably in England, and passed away about 1693. [2]

Peter appears to have immigrated to Virginia with his parents and brothers, Paul and William, prior to 1649.

Peter and his brother William Presley signed the Oaths of Allegiance, Northumberland County, in 1652.[4]

Peter Presley married Elizabeth Thompson, daughter of Richard Thompson who had patented land on Kings Cr., N.C. in 1649 and 1651 and his wife Ursula Bish, probably between 20 February 1663/4 and 20 June 1664.[5] [6] [3]

Peter Presley, son of William Presley, was burgess for Northumberland County in 1677, 1684, 1691.[7] [8] He was justice of the County Court in 1660-61 and 1674-1692.[9]

Peter is named in the will of his father, William Presley, dated August 15, 1656 and proven January 20, 1656/57 in Northumberland County, Virginia.[9] The will refers to William's deceased wife Jane and names as heirs sons William Presly, Peter Presly, grandchild Wm. Presly [son of William]. Peter Presly is named executor of his estate and his brother William Presly is appointed guardian of Peter until he comes of age at 21.[10]

The will of Peter Presley was proven 19 April 1693 in Northumberland County, Virginia.[9]

I have a document that show probable marriage dates for Peter Presley and Elizabeth Thompson. I would like to upload to this page. I am descended from them through their daughter Elizabeth Presley who married Peter Elder III.
