The 1860 Census reveals that Hannah was living in Crawford County as head of household with two of her sons, George (b. 1845) and Henry (b. 1841). We will presume at this point that Hannah was answering the census-takers questions in which she was asked where she was born. She responded "Pennsylvania." This is significant in identifying Hannah's parentage. This writer Varnell-40 18:07, 27 October 2016 (EDT) finds no primary evidence to support the claim that she was born in Maryland.
The question arises concerning the issue of Hannah's parents and her age. Please note that Hannah's parents married 30 Nov 1777. Their 1st child was born 1778. Hannah was their last and 12th child, born in 1802.
