Nicholas Pullen was one of the earliest pioneers of Phelps, NY arriving in 1791 along with his son-in-law Walter Chase. Nicholas and Walter Chase both settled in Oaks Corners.

Nicholas was born in Rhode Island, son of William Pullen (b. 1713) and Naoma Bucklin. He married Mary Jenckes in Smithfield, RI in 1764. The family moved to Guilford, Vermont and raised a family. His wife Mary most likely came with him to Phelps, but died in 1798. Many of his children also settled in the nearby area. Nicholas married 2nd to Elizabeth Burnett. He and Elizabeth seem to have had two daughters, Electa and Eliza. Nicholas died when they were just small children. Not sure what happened to Elizabeth Burnett Pullen but she probably remarried.
